Jettas and Golfs break just as much as Saabs, and are equally, if not more expensive to fix. I've got a 2001 9-5 V6 which has 175k miles on the odometer as of yesterday. It still runs great, but I have had to put a considerable amount of money (~$3k) into maintenance over the past year or so, which is expected with this kind of mileage. I still love the car though; it's a blast to drive! In 2002 they upgraded the body style on the 9-5. Within the 2001-2002 range I would look for a used V6 3.0t rather than a 2.3t. While a great engine the 2.3t is prone to sludge which will destroy the engine. Keep up with the timing belt and tensioners on the V6 every 60k and it's truly a wonderful engine.Which one? 1999-2004 jetta/golf or 2001-2002 saab 93/95. All with traction control cause i need it. automatic.
Neither! Both are seriously very expensive to maintain, look for a nice Accord or Camry. Of the two though I would get the Golf, I'm a long time Volkswagen owner, just never one out of warranty!Which one? 1999-2004 jetta/golf or 2001-2002 saab 93/95. Both are expensive to fix, but I'd pick the jetta or golf over the saab. I love my saab, but they break all the time.
